**About the Role**
We are looking to appoint an experienced **Leading Hand** to join our team in** Malaga, Perth **on a** permanent, full-time** basis. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role is responsible for providing leadership to our team of 8 technicians and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the workshop. Key responsibilities are
- Assist Branch Manager with recruitment, onboarding activities and performance management of technicians.
- Coach, guide, lead and mentor technicians, apprentices, and trade assistants to ensure engagement and a high standard of work.
- Assist with planning and scheduling of workshop jobs and ensure that tasks are carried out within acceptable timeframes
- Responsible for management of all vehicles, tooling & training as required to conduct all workshop jobs.
- Liaise with Parts department to ensure correct parts are ordered and received, and monitor and record parts usage, as appropriate.
- Perform repair, preventative maintenance and overhauls on various models of Waukesha, Caterpillar, White Superior and other Gas Engines and Ariel, IR, Gemini, Nuovo Pignone and other Gas compressors at the Customer’s plant, in the field or in the Enerflex workshops, in line with manufacturer standards
- Commission new gas compression packages and/or equipment;
- Create reports on completed maintenance work for all customer equipment in a timely manner.
- Maintain company HSE standards and report all near misses, accidents, and corrective action, as appropriate.
**About you**
- Hold relevant trade qualifications or be degree qualified
- Demonstrated experience working in the natural gas engine and compression or similar industry
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial position with a track record of leading a successful team
- Experience in building and maintaining customer relationships
- Demonstrated technical and trouble shooting ability
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of legislated Workplace Health, Safety, Environment and Quality obligations
- Sound judgement informed by extensive practical knowledge and experience
- Good planning and organizational skills
