**Patient Services Assistant - Kingston**

**Permanent part-time position**

**(35 hours per fortnight)**

**Our Journey**:
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

The General Services department at Kingston Hospital requires qualified Patient Services Assistant who are customer focused, who enjoy working in a busy team environment and helping others deliver outstanding services. You must be team focused and passionate about making out patients feel comfortable and safe.

**Rostered permanent part-time Patient Services Assistant position covering**:

- Monday to Sunday
- AM and PM shifts
- 35 hours per fortnight

**A Day in the Life**:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Ward cleaning
- Managing waste
- Floor scrubbing
- Late discharges
- Bed making
- Assisting nursing staff as requested

**Personal Level**:

- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Holds a strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Flexibility to change shifts or cover staff leave at short notice

**What you Need**:

- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a patient services assistant (Essential)
- Food Handlers Certificate - Level 1
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
