Join one of the leading Environmental consultancies within NSW who are working throughout the State to deliver diverse projects including impact assessment, offsetting projects and monitoring programs.
With a growing portfolio of work in the Natural capitals area, this is a great opportunity to join a close-knit team of established environmental professionals.
**Your new role**
The consultancy is seeking a Associate-Principal level Ecology Consultant to join their team. You will ideally have a minimum of 15+ years’ experience in the Natural resource management (NRM) industry, with previous consultancy experience. The role is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio, and providing ecological advice to clients based on field survey, research and within the context of the legislative framework in NSW.
With active projects over most of NSW, working from home, or from a regional NSW location is welcomed.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- A tertiary qualification in the field of Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany, or other relevant discipline
- A minimum of 10+ years’ experience undertaking field-based surveys, data analysis and reporting, preferably in a consulting capacity.
- Proven ability to provide technical ecological advice on large and diverse projects along with providing technical oversight to junior team members.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and planning policies.
- An existing BAM accreditation is an advantage, alternatively, the desire and capacity to become BAM accredited based on your existing experience.
- Experience in preparing ecological reports, which may include, impact assessments (BDARs and FFAs), monitoring reports, and Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessments (BSSARs).
- High PCT (Plant Community Type) assessment skills and experience
- A willingness to travel throughout NSW to perform fieldwork campaigns and mentor our junior team members.
- Vegetation community identification skills within NSW would be an advantage, along with botanical skills
