**The opportunity**:
As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end design delivery for Powerlink's network projects. You'll play a central role in ensuring the successful integration of designs across multiple disciplines, managing risks, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will also:

- Manage the delivery of designs for large-scale, simultaneous projects. Oversee scoping, scheduling, reporting, risk management, quality, cost control, and teamwork.
- Develop and execute detailed design plans from conception to project closeout, ensuring timely and high-quality design solutions.
- Proactively manage design interfaces across all disciplines (Substations, Transmission Lines, Secondary, Telecommunications Systems) and with internal/external resources, contractors, and customers.
- Lead and mentor Design Delivery Coordinators and collaborate with other Design Managers to optimise project outcomes.

As a member of our Design Solutions team at our Virginia office, you'll work with a team who are driven by collaboration, innovation, and a shared purpose to deliver reliable, sustainable energy solutions to communities across Queensland and beyond. You’ll work alongside talented professionals who bring diverse expertise and perspectives, and who are dedicated to creating a safer, smarter, and more resilient energy network.

**What you'll bring**:

- Degree qualification in Engineering or lesser qualification with extensive knowledge and experience in design of high voltage substations, transmission lines or telecommunications technologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage large infrastructure projects, including design support services.
- Knowledge of Australian and international design standards (AS, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage large infrastructure projects, including design support services.
