**About the Opportunity**
Want to work in a world class Microbiology Laboratory? An opportunity exists for an individual with a passion for Microbiology to join the NSW Health Pathology Microbiology Department laboratory team nestled in the Liverpool Hospital Precinct as a temporary full-time Medical Laboratory Technician.
We are seeking a level-headed person with good laboratory skills, an eye for detail, good organizational skills and excellent communication skills. You will be working with a dedicated team of Laboratory staff, providing quality services to Southwestern Sydney Local Health District network patients.

Continued professional development is essential in this role and opportunities will be provided to support these activities. We will be looking for your strengths and once trained you will be required to participate in a 24/7 roster and supervise after hour shifts on a rostered basis. Participation in an on-call roster is mandatory.

**What you'll be doing**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a Microbiology department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines

- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staff
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
