We are currently recruiting for a Control Panel Operator position to be based in our Perth Control Room. This position will report to the Global Control Centre Manager who is based in the Brisbane office. The purpose of the position is to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the company’s generation assets in collaboration with site based operator maintainers. The roster is Monday to Friday, working a 40 hour week plus reasonable additional hours. There are also flexible working arrangements.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**- Actively engage in and promote safe work practices.- Safely monitor and control EDL’s generation assets to enhance safety and reliability and achieve EDL’s generation and revenue targets.- Liaise with site-based personnel to support day to day operation.- Operate equipment in accordance with established protocols and procedures to prevent or minimise power interruptions.- Understand priority of equipment and safely restore any loss of generation in a timely manner.- Communicate with key stakeholders via phone, incident reports and daily log sheets.- Perform remote HV switching following switching programs for both internal and external customers.- Actively support all company safety policies and operational procedures to ensure personal health and safety and the safety of others.- Abide by and promote EDL core “SPIRIT” values.- Abide by and promote EDL Cyber Security processes.

**Person Specification**- Demonstrated ability to operate plant via remote SCADA.- Ability to prioritise tasks and perform under pressure with competing demands.- Demonstrated troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.- Ability to work as part of a multi-skilled team.- Excellent verbal communication skills.- Demonstrated ability to work alone and unsupervised.- Demonstrated ability to make decisions, and escalate problems as required.- Although this role is primarily a daywork position, the successful applicant must be able to work as part of a shift in a roster that will involve periods of nightshift, and have flexibility to cover leave and absences if required.

**Qualifications and Experience**- Power Plant Operator or equivalent in similar industry (Oil or Gas)- Power or heavy industry background in process control, mechanical or electrical trade.- Control Room experience is essential.- Boiler Operator and Turbine Licences an advantage.- At least intermediate ability with Microsoft Office software, in particular Word and Excel

You will be a highly motivated, self-starter with excellent communications skills and work effectively in a small, collaborative team environment.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo medical and background screening prior to commencement with EDL.
