
Assistant Regional School Sport Officer

As the Assistant Regional Representative School Sports Officer, you will have responsibility for the following:
- Support the RRSSO through liaison with individuals and groups associated with schools at the local and regional level to collect, collate and analyse information that impacts on the development and organisation of school sport.
- Assist the RRSSO in the planning and conduct of regional school sport programs across the region including performing official duties at state and national championships.
- Facilitate student participation within the three education sectors (state, independent and catholic) in organised representative school sport.
- Support the RRSSO to promote and deliver key messages about the benefits of participating in school sport to students within their sport region.
- Provide guidance and direction for teachers in their role within the regional school sport program.
- Assume responsibility for the regional school sport program and at region, state and national school sport events when the RRSSO is unavailable.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and networks to promote the position of school sport, enhance program development, and maintain and monitor regional sport programs.
- Support the delivery of in-service and professional development to teachers within the region.
- Lead or assist in projects relevant to the operations of the Regional School Sport.
- Liaise with administration, teachers and teacher aides on policy and other issues to ensure program aims are achieved, and compliance with relevant legislation.

- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
