Youth Options is a community-based organisation which has been providing high quality services for over 30 years to people in our local communities, especially to young people, unemployed people, people living with disability and those who experience disadvantage.

Youth Options is a Registered NDIS Provider. The NDIS is a national approach to supporting people with disability to maximise their potential and participate as equal citizens in Australian society. The NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.

We are looking for a YO MAKERSPACE NDIS Mentor to join our team who has trade experience (such as woodwork, metalwork or similar) and a passion for working with young people with disability who will engage our participants registered with the NDIS in hands on projects based in our YO MAKERSPACE Workshop.

This is a casual role, with hours to range from 0.4FTE to 1.0FTE dependent on Youth Options demand and the successful applicants availability.

In this role, you will be engaging participants in the planning and implementation of practical based projects, mainly wood work and metal work, to enable participants to develop a range of skills, abilities and knowledge.

You will help participants self-problem solve and overcome obstacles in the creation of their projects whilst fostering a positive learning environment.

The successful applicant will have appropriate clearances and meet essential criteria as noted in the Position Description.
