**Your new role**:
Be part of the biggest Defence export program. The Nulka program is the most sophisticated soft-kill anti-ship missile defence system available for the protection of surface warships. Perform work of national significance in protecting our ships and in their maintenance.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be accountable for providing technical support to the design, development and integration of systems and/or equipment in accordance with the contractual and Company requirements in order to achieve the required business performance.
As a member of the maintenance team within the Nulka Sustainment Project, you will be required to contribute to the completion of team tasks, meeting project key performance indicators (KPIs) and grow own knowledge and experience.
**More specifically, this role will see you**:
- Ensure that Richmond Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) maintenance activities are completed consistent with the established budget for the activity
- Manage Richmond DLM maintenance activity to carry out the maintenance schedule assuming availability of spare and repair parts
- Ensure that all maintenance activity is completed in accordance with work orders by authorised personnel using approved data and tools/ test equipment
- Ensure that activities within the Richmond DLM are performed in accordance with governing procedures including the Richmond DLM Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Provide Field Service Support to RAN ships, RAN shore establishments and BAE Systems Australia businesses on an as-required basis
- Perform DLM maintenance activities as required and ensure all Maximo records and other documentation is completed in full and in a timely fashion
About you
**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:
- Ability to obtain or hold a Defence Security Clearance
- Associate diploma in Electronic and/or electrical or equivalent experience
- Ability to meet soldering requirements per IPC-A-610/ IPC-J-STD-001/ IPC-7711/7721 as required for the role
- Significant experience in electronics/ avionics system maintenance including two or more of the following aspects:
- Installation/ set-to-work
- Troubleshooting
- Prototyping/ manufacturing of electronic assemblies
- Component level repair
- Ability to work as a contributory maintenance team member and take action, make decisions and be proactive to deliver optimum business results
Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
