The Strategic Adviser reports to the Executive Director and provides high-level coordination, advice and project management across the Branch. This role supports strategic coordination of the Branch activities to ensure we deliver our core business and are responsive to policy priorities.
Working closely with Executive Director, Branch executive and the Office of the Deputy Secretary, this role is responsible for developing high quality strategic advice for the Executive team, including leading and coordination of advice on cross-portfolio strategic policy issues, corporate, budget, staffing, governance and financial matters.
The Adviser will also need to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the Commissioning and System Improvement Division as well as other Department of Health Divisions. They will be responsible for ensuring better branch-wide management, coordination and response to emerging policy priorities
The role requires a person who is a proactive self-starter with a strong understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced environment. The role also requires high levels of adaptability and a commitment to contribute to a professional and supportive work environment.
The role also requires a sound policy and strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive outcomes, with experience providing high level strategic advice on complex issue.
