**ABOUT BARROW ISLAND**

Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf simulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are currently recruiting for an experienced **HSE Superintendent** to join our Resources team supporting the long-term Civil and Electrical Construction scopes at **Barrow Island** on a 12 month Fixed-Term basis.

As the **HSE Superintendent,** you will be responsible for ensuring Ertech’s Business Manager/HSEQ Systems is compliant with current legislation, standards, codes of practice and company systems.

**Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- Advise the Company and projects on HSE matters to ensure works are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, utilising resources available and making recommendations where gaps are identified.
- Liaise with the engineering, safety, environmental and workshop staff to ensure the best for project goals are known and achieved.
- Support projects, providing input at start-up and other support where required.
- Identifies issues proactively and persistently, seeks out information that may affect the project, and responds to new opportunities. Communicate issues to the Project Manager, Operations Manager and HSEQ Manager where relevant and proposes solutions.
- Works closely with key client stakeholders, proactively manages their expectations, and constantly tries to improve relationships.
- Leads the creation of a safe working environment through the mentoring and coaching of project staff in Safety Leadership.

**To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following**:

- 10+ years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry, with a comprehensive understanding of industry standards, legislation, and codes of practice.
- Holds relevant HSE qualifications, Senior First Aid, and CPR certification.
- Cert IV in Leadership & Management and Cert IV in Training & Assessment.
- Proficient in work area planning, scheduling, and program management.
- Highly developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Accredited Internal and Lead Auditor across Integrated Management Systems, including OHS, Quality, and Environment.
