About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide high quality scientific communications support to the Research and Development team. Working closely with the National Research Lead-Strategy, Communications and Molecular Development, you’ll be communicating research results in a variety of media to diverse business and public stakeholders.
Timely and effective communication of research results is essential for the translation of research outcomes into changes in policy and practice both within and outside our organisation.
You will use clarity and creativity to produce engaging communications that explain diverse research concepts, and be comfortable working with scientists, creative professionals and business stakeholders.
You’ll prepare articles for Lifeblood’s website, assist in development of media releases, Annual Reports, and provide verbal and written updates on our research to the business.
Writing will be a major part of this role, but skills or an interest in visual communication, video editing or graphic design will also be useful.
Sound interesting? Here’s what we are looking for;
A degree in health sciences, epidemiology, public health, psychology, science or a related field and experience or qualifications in science communication
Experience producing academic publications and presentations in a medical, health-related or scientific discipline
Ability to interpret, synthesise and communicate complex information in plain language
Proven ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships and consult with a range of external and internal stakeholders
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge and skills in English language and grammar.
Computer literacy and demonstrated competence in in Microsoft Office Systems (Word, PowerPoint Excel, Teams etc.)
Ability to work independently and in a team in a hybrid environment;
Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining high quality standards.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based out of our Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne Processing Centres with the ability to also WFH.
