**Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC)**
The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) is a national digital research infrastructure program funded through the federal government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). The purpose of the ARDC is to provide Australian researchers with a competitive advantage through data. The ARDC is a transformational investment, partnering to facilitate a coherent research environment that will enable Australia’s researchers to translate their work into benefits for society. ARDC staff are employed through multiple host institutions including the University of Melbourne.

**About the Role**
Are you passionate about DevOps and experienced in managing people? Join a team at the University of Melbourne which runs a national research cloud.

Responsibilities include:

- Oversight, management and responsibility for the day to day operations of the national Research Cloud, including the ARDC Core Services team, staffing, budgeting, performance management and strategic planning.
- Development, implementation, coordination and improvement of operating processes and procedures across the nodes of the Nectar Research Cloud, in conjunction with other nodes.
- Providing regular reports on operations to the ARDC’s Nectar Research Cloud Steering Committee and Technical Committee.
- Represent the national Research Cloud service on relevant committees and working groups, and in events such as the eResearch Australasia conference, to share expertise and findings with peers.

**About You**

You should also have:

- A tertiary qualification in a computer science or engineering discipline with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and training.
- Demonstrated experience managing distributed ICT operations teams.
- Demonstrated experience in operational improvement, establishing best practice and effecting operational change.
- Experience in reporting to management, high level users or stakeholders on service level targets, on complex issues, impacts and improvements.
- Highly developed analytical, conceptual, consulting, evaluation, numerical, research and problem-solving skills in order to interpret business needs and develop and communicate appropriate technical solutions.
