**About the Project**
The Midland Station Cale Street Project is being delivered by the Midland Junction Alliance (MJA) comprising of Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA), McConnell Dowell Pty Limited (MCD), Georgiou Group Pty Limited, BG&E and Arcadis is an alliance that is committed to delivering the Midland Station (Cale Street) Project (MSCS) and associated works in a collaborative way to ensure exceptional results.

With McConnell Dowell as the principal contractor the Midland Station project is a Design and Construct project including but not limited to the following scope;
- A new train station
- A new actively protected at-grade level crossing
- A Multi storey car park
- A bus station
- A new rail track alignment including mixed and dual gauge infrastructure
- A new Overhead Line Equipment system and upgrade of the existing
- A new signalling system and upgrades to the existing systems
- A communications system backbone
- Train Control System updates
- Operations building, road and civil works, principal shared paths, drainage systems

The project will run until Q2 of 2026 and be built in multiple complex stages to facilitate delivery including commissioning, interconnection with the existing freight and passenger rail line networks and Final Asset Acceptance (FAA) of the works.
**About the Role**
MCD are currently recruiting for a** Track Protection Officer **to join our team in Perth, Western Australia on a full-time basis.

This role will see you coordinating and implementing rail safeworking rules and procedures within the PTA and Arc infrastructure rail networks to enable project works to occur within the rail corridor and on track. You will be required to comply with the relevant Rail Transport Operators (RTO) processes and procedures for ensuring works in the rail corridor are done safely and do not impact day to day operations of the RTO.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assists in the planning and implementing protection arrangements for complex possessions
- Complete risk assessments and conduct pre-work briefings with site personnel.
- Maintain positive relationships with client representatives
- Promotion of the Alliance Charter including Our Values, Vision, Mission, and Key Result Areas and understanding the individual contribution to its delivery
- Compliance with the Safety and Environmental Responsibilities specific to Alliance Management Plan and promote the highest Health and Safety Standards
- Adherence to MJA’s Management System which is based on McConnell Dowell Management System

**About You**

To be successful in this role, the following is preferred;
- Current C class drivers licence
- Construction industry white card
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card, with the following PTA track accreditation:

- Supervised Worker
- Protection Officer level 1
- Protection Officer level 2
- Protection Officer level 3
- Person Responsible for Electrical Safety (PRES)
- Possession Protection Officer (PPO) - desirable
- Track Access Permit (TAP) card, with the following Arc Infrastructure track accreditation:

- Supervised Worker
- Protection Officer (incl POLO)
- Protection Officer, Track Vehicle (POTV) upgrade - desirable
- Possession Protection Officer (PPO) - desirable
- Ability to pass Cat 1 medical
- Proven experience in providing rail safeworking protection for a workgroup in the form of a Work on Track Authority
- Strong and Clear communication skills, written and verbal
- Able to work weekends and nightshifts when required
