Our client is an innovative confectionery ingredients manufacturer with numerous factories across different countries. They are currently seeking for a Japanese Speaking Cost Accounting Officer to join in their Australia friendly team in a growing business.

**About the role**
- Responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and managing the organization's costs and financial performance,
- Work closely with various departments, including production, procurement, and finance, to ensure accurate cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Perform cost analysis, review cost trends, and provide insights to management for decision making.
- Prepare and maintain cost accounting records, including cost of goods sold (COGS), standard costs, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with production and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of costs and inventory valuation.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist budgeting and forecasting reports related to cost accounting, including cost projections, overhead costs, and labor costs.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial statements and cost reconciliations.
- Monitor and analyze actual costs against budgeted costs, identify variances, and provide explanations to management.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc financial reports in Japanese to our headquarters in Japan, including cost reports, variance analysis, and other financial performance metrics.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to drive cost optimization initiatives and process improvements.
- Provide support to auditors during internal and external audits by preparing and providing relevant cost accounting documentation.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to cost accounting.

**Skills and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree holder or above in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA/CMA certification is preferable
- A solid understanding of cost accounting principles, excellent analytical skills
- 3 years relevant experience in Cost Accounting or Financial Analysis
- Fluency in Japanese (both written and verbal) is required and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in both Japanese and English.
- Proficiency in using cost accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of manufacturing or production industry is a plus.
