Our client, Visit Victoria, is the state’s dedicated tourism and events company. They inspire people to visit Melbourne and Victoria through creative storytelling and enriching events. Their main goal is to drive visitation and expenditure through destination marketing and a strong pipeline of major, regional and business events to support the visitor economy.

**Role Overview**:
The Data & Analytics Manager will have responsibility for driving innovative data and analytics strategies to achieve Visit Victoria’s global business objectives. The role will oversee a small team focused on data analytics, audience management and data-driven insights across all digital channels. They will also assist with embedding the Data strategy across the organisation with a strong focus on Visit Victoria's audience.

**Projects and Remit**:

- Manage 2 Direct Reports
- Build, leverage and manage customer data platforms, data partners and related agency relationships
- Provide support with data partnerships, major data & analytics initiatives, and digital assets across other teams at Visit Victoria, including Melbourne Convention Bureau, Major Events and Corporate Relations business units.
- Work with our Research & Insights team to help source and integrate third party/syndicated data so that its effectively used for organisational reporting & insights
- Lead the Business Intelligence (BI) tool upgrade and improved dashboard reporting with teams across the business to ensure adoption and continued success
- Work with our Destination Marketing team and media agency partners to share our data & insights to create a media mix model and support driving media efficiency
- Optimise our data measurement framework to align the business around reporting best practices
- Lead our continual expansion of the use of Google Analytics and BigQuery
- Work with our Leadership team to deliver actionable insights, and the Destination Marketing team to drive real-time visibility of campaign performance
- Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience leading a data and analytics function
- Experience working with business intelligence (BI) tools such as Google Analytics, Power BI, Big Query, Data Studio and Tealium
- Experience working with data warehouses / data lakes
- Experience with common analytics querying languages such as SQL
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to discuss data needs with non-technical stakeholders
- A flexible approach and the ability to accept and champion change
