The Office of the Surveyor-General is a directorate of the Department for Housing and Urban Development and is the primary government authority on cadastral (land boundary) surveying and the cadastre (land boundaries and land tenure), geodetic survey infrastructure, geographical place names, native title land tenure searching and opening and closing of public roads.

**The Role**:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Research Officer to join our dedicated team to undertake tenure searching for Native Title claims. This role reports directly to Coordinator Tenure and Mapping.

**About You**:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

- Proven research experience and proven ability to adapt to change
- Sound analytical and research skills to evaluate information, provide advice and develop clear correspondence with recommendations that meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to consistently perform high volumes of work with close attention to accuracy and detail
- Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to liaise with all levels, listen to staff, service providers and customers, resolve conflict, contribute to successful and positive negotiations, and formulate solutions to problems
- Previous experience working successfully within a team

Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO3 - $67,589 min - $72,033 max
