Job Title: Project Officer

The role of a Project Officer is crucial in supporting research excellence at the University through effective management and improvement of research ethics, compliance, and integrity systems.

This position plays a pivotal part in delivering strategic and system-based projects that enhance the efficiency, quality, and compliance of research activities across the University.

Working within a high-performing team in the Office of Research Ethics, Compliance and Integrity (ORECI), this role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the University's research mission.

  • Evaluating complex rules, policies, and procedures to identify business process improvements;
  • Developing high-level computing skills and competence in standard office software and information management systems;
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external audiences;
  • Buidling relationships with stakeholders to support service delivery and project success;
  • Contribution to project objectives working independently or as part of a team;
  • Initiative, sound judgement, and managing competing priorities;
  • Understanding of research structures, ethics, and compliance processes (desirable);

Key Responsibilities:

To be successful, you will need:

  1. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies, and procedures;
  2. High-level computing skills and competence in standard office software and information management systems;
  3. Verbal and written communication skills to prepare clear correspondence and briefing papers;
  4. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders;
  5. Ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement, and manage competing priorities;
  6. Understanding of research structures, ethics, and compliance processes (desirable).
