**Your new company**

Our client is a national innovator of state-of-the-art research facilities and scientific infrastructure with the aim to solve nationwide challenges. They operate at an intersection between different disciplines including environmental impact, natural disasters technology and space and many more. They bring together government, research organisations and universities to achieve a common goal. They are looking to engage Research Technician to support the teams research scientists and team leaders to undertake projects by preparing materials for experimental purposes.

**Your new role**

In your new role you will be assisting with preparation of mineralise ore samples including materials handling equipment and operation of crushing and screening equipment. In addition to this you will be responsible collecting and processing experimental data on an ongoing basis along with assisting with the operation of experimental equipment and in some cases assisting with laboratory procedures.

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to succeed you will ideally have demonstrated hands-on ability to safely and competently operate mechanical equipment including materials handling e.g. rotating equipment, crushers, bins etc. you will also ideally have the following:

- Work experience in the minerals industry
- Overhead crane experience
- Demonstrated hands-on ability to operate pilot scale experimental equipment, to prepare feed materials, to accurately collect test data and report results to supervisors.
- Demonstrated ability to observe and record machine data to a high degree of accuracy in strict adherence to established procedures.
- Current National Forklift Ticket.
- Current Driver's Licence

**What you'll get in return**

Our client is offering the opportunity to develop to join a well-established team on an initial 4-month contract with potential to extend. They are offering an hourly rate between $45-57 per hour plus super, depending on experience.
