A large state government is seeking Portfolio Manager Management for an initial 5-month contract for a massive program. The role is well suited to an individual with a strong background in project, program and portfolio controls with experience operating at a management level.
We are currently seeking a suitably skilled individual for the role of Manager Portfolio Management within the Strategy, Planning and Transformation division. The role seeks ensure management of the portfolio is in line with wider policy and strategic objectives and to support Senior Responsible Owners to coordinate their programs and governance structures to meet time and efficiency goals and objectives.
**Role and responsibilities -**
- Lead and govern the investment plan by ensuring planning and active management is occurring and leading the approval of portfolio and cross-program changes.
- Manage external stakeholders to build a strong reputation for capital delivery performance by influencing, negotiating and responding to their information needs, including other state departments.
- Plan and facilitate the agenda for monthly Investment Committee and provide strategic advice and support to the Group Senior Manager EPMO and the GE Strategy, Planning & Transformation, and its effectiveness in supporting the organisation in achieving its goals and objectives.
- Establish and develop monitoring and reporting processes that ensure controls are in place to adjust the portfolio based on performance metrics and forecasts and there is transparency of project and program performance in line with internal and external stakeholder needs.
- Ensure that project data sets and reporting information are current and accurate through ownership of portfolio systems, robust data management and review processes.
- Build a customer focused culture and behaviours within the PMO Function, focused on building an enabling and partnering focus
Skills and experience
- Extensive knowledge of portfolio and program management and its relationship with strategic governance, operational planning and delivery performance.
- High level of senior leadership skills in a large and complex organisation, focused on building a customer focused, performance-based culture.
- High level of skill in performing portfolio, program and project management activities, focused on delivering complex outcomes within tight timeframes and effective change management.
- High level of skill in engaging with a wide range of key stakeholders in facilitating effective client management, utilising influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills that build and sustain productive relationships and Partnerships
