**The opportunity**
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for a Risk Advisor to help oversee a range of service improvement initiatives to help assist with Fraud & Control delivery.
18-month initial contract with opportunity for extension. APS6 level role with an expected rate of $58.50 per hour + Superannuation, with the option to be based out of Geelong, Richmond, or Sydney, including 2 days working from home each week, with the remaining 3 on site.
**The Team**
The Risk Advisory Branch supports the Agency to assess and manage risks. The branch supports risk owners to identify and manage risks inherent in their operating activities and strategic initiatives. They develop controls to mitigate risks and facilitate improved risk awareness and training, reporting on emerging risk profiles and trends.
**The role**
This is a Team membership position within the Agency that may require setting priorities and managing the workflows of a team.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Reporting key findings, observations, trends and emerging risks to corporate committees and leadership networks
- Developing project and business risk plans to enhance fraud and compliance prevention and detection mechanisms
- Undertaking fraud risk assessments and reviews to identify areas of potential exposure in relation to fraud risk and developing strategic initiatives to mitigate risks
- Identifying issues and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and management of fraud risk
- Gathering, investigating and analysing information and data from a variety of sources and business systems and proposing control improvement strategies
- Managing projects relating to fraud prevention and control, providing support across the organisation to ensure an ongoing commitment to eliminating fraud and sharp practices
- Maintaining the Agency's Fraud Risk Register and Controls Library

- Strong Stakeholder Engagement & Management
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Experience within Project Management highly regarded
