Reporting into Principal in Charge, and works with
- All Directors, principals, Marketing and Project Delivery Managers
- Chief Operating Officer on Administration, Human Resources, Finance and practice matters and resourcing.
Responsible for
- Business Development
- Client Management
- Project Delivery
- Team Leadership
Purpose
- Win, manage, control and direct architectural / interior projects
- Reduce support activity by Directors
- Initiate and develop improved process and efficiency
- Grow the practice in terms of revenue and profit
Through existing and new clients yearly
- Targets to be established
- Prepare proposals including design ideas
- Respond to enquiries, EOI’s tenders
- Develop and build long term relationships
- Network across the industry
- Implementation of strategic business plan
Establish processes
- Maintain high moral
- Be a role model to all staff
- Make recommendations on Architecture staff careers and salaries
Foster design excellence
- Publicize design successes
- Undertake design competitors and tenders
- Support design initiatives across the group
Manage client expectations and actions
- initiate design of projects for best possible design outcome
- on time and on budget
- deliver projects profitably
Generally
- The person must have 15 years experience post Graduation of a Bachelor of Architecture
- Must be seen as a leader in the profession by peers, the industry and clients.
- Must have developed substantial new business
- Must have demonstrated specific knowledge or expertise and be recognized in the market for it.
Leadership
- Ability to bring ideas and promote them to the Board of Directors.
- Ability to manage staff for high productivity and moral
- Mentor staff in career and team based activities.
- Achieve profit results on major strategic projects.
- Be pro-active in business development activities.
- Have a high customer service focus.
- Think strategically.
Technical Competence
- Reasonable understanding and knowledge of financial reporting, P&L, balance sheet, financial management and systems.
- Demonstrated design ability and specialist knowledge in a sector.
- Good knowledge of marketing and sales processes, PR, brand identity and preparation of print design and production.
- Good writing skills sufficient to initiate, review, edit and deliver quality EOI, proposals, tenders and reports.
**Qualifications**:
- Qualified Architect registered to practice in Victoria.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in area relevant to the profession and or business.
- Client testimonial as demonstration of success relative to a similar position or project role.
- Demonstration of special skill (design, IT) that makes a real difference to the company.
Established Presence in the Melbourne market with networks to active for work winning.
