Mackellar is the mining services contractor for Bravus’ Carmichael Mine and together we are creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland. We have recently reached the coal seams at the mine site located in the Galilee Basin and we’re excited to be building our team as we work towards production.

Reporting to the Project Manager, we are looking for a highly experienced Mining Manager to oversee the day to day operations of the Production department out at the Carmichael Mine in the Galilee Basin in regional Queensland. This is an exciting greenfield project and will require someone who can not only manage, but also assist Mackellar in building the department to ensure success in what will be the largest coal mine in Queensland.

Becoming a valued member of the site Leadership Team, you will build and lead a highly skilled and productive team that ensures targets are met or exceeded. The main focus of this role will be on continuous improvement whilst overseeing all aspects of mine production, as well as working with the client, Technical Services and management team to deliver operational outcomes. Bringing with you experience in working for a principal contractor, you will understand how to negotiate and influence the client to maximise the outcomes for Mackellar.

This role will be a 5/2/4/3 roster, with travel out of Rockhampton or Townsville only.

Applicants must have:

- Extensive experience in a similar position specifically in coal mining operations, with a proven track record in delivering high standards and results across mining projects
- Demonstrated experience in the effective workforce leadership and management, particularly within contract mining operations
- Current Mining Supervisor - G1, G8, G9 & G2
- Queensland driver licence
- Senior First Aid certificate (HTLAID003) would be beneficial

We are looking for someone who leads by example, can effectively influence and negotiate with the client, and can build and lead a strong performing team.
