**About the role**

The purpose of the Head of Data & Analytics role is to work together with the Regional Head of Enterprise Risk Management to provide the Chief Risk Officers, senior management and Board of both Australia & New Zealand with management information and insights to enable them to have adequate oversight of the maturity of Rabobank’s compliance management framework, programs and policies and the effectiveness of Rabobank’s compliance risk and control environment which can be used to enhance governance and inform decision making.

The Risk Management division provides essential insight and undertakes oversight that guards against residual risk, supporting the development and execution of the Bank’s strategy. The team works with our Line 1 business partners, Country Banking, Wholesale Banking, Operations, Human Resources and Finance across Australia and New Zealand to assess each risk and determine which are critical for the business.

**Some of the responsibilities and accountabilities include**:
Analytics and Reporting
- Develop an effective risk analytical framework to support the performance of the Agribusiness portfolio
- Ensures risk reporting is aligned to and supports enterprise key risks and risk appetite statements, is insightful and meaningful.
- Drive core analytical and reporting initiatives: portfolio performance; KRI reporting; sector analysis; regulatory reporting; board reporting; and stress testing.
- Utilising advanced statistical, financial and economic concepts to develop analysis that can be used by management in business decisions such as pricing, risk management, provisioning and capital allocation to ensure business value is being delivered.
- Ensure economic, regulatory capital and provisioning are calculated accurately and drivers of movement are analysed on.

Risk Data & Systems
- Maintain thorough understanding of all internal risk management systems
- Participate in risk management systems development by providing input into design / specifications ensuring end users requirements are met
- Fully document interfaces with other systems and processes, develop and maintain online user guides and data dictionaries
- Work with wider Enterprise Risk Management team and wider risk team to ensure models, policies, relevant business rules, decision strategies and processes are correctly implemented into risk management systems
- Build and maintain purpose-built DataMart for ERM reporting and analytical teams
- Fully document data standards, data dictionaries and links to source systems

People
- Lead and manage direct reports, including setting of objectives, providing feedback and support, training and development
- Responsible for sharing expertise within and outside the department
- Proactively promote the risk organisational behaviour and culture

**To be successful in the role, you will have**:

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business, finance, commerce or related discipline with a post graduate qualification in Financing, Accounting or Economics
- Proven and exceptional experience within banking environment, specifically with exposure to activities within the Risk Division (Business Risks (Strategic/Reputational), Non-Financial Risk (Compliance and Operational Risk) and Financial Risk (Credit, Market and Liquidity).
- Excellent understanding of various risk governance & frameworks
- Good knowledge of BIS II requirements
- Knowledge of Food & Agribusiness sectors (advantageous)\
- Good working knowledge of New Zealand and Australian regulatory requirements as necessary
- Knowledge and experience within large company enterprise-wide operations is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to relate positively with other bank staff
- Proven ability to actively keep abreast of changes in external environment and translate into internal environment
