About the Role

Working three days a week, this role reports to and works closely with the Group Head Strategic Communications and Engagement. This role is responsible for driving impactful engagement across SSI’s network of member organisations (Sector Representatives).

SSI is a member organisation with 14 members across the human services sector, based in Qld, NSW, Vic and Tasmania. The SSI member network works together on advocacy and sector development.

The role has a broad impact and requires capabilities across relationship management, stakeholder engagement, writing and presentation skills, influencing skills and external promotion.
You will enhance and drive the profile and reputation of SSI through relationship building, agile advocacy and thought leadership, seeking opportunities for co-promotion of activities, events and initiatives.

This role will work across operational functions including the Stakeholder Relations, Government Relations, Research & Policy and Program/Service Delivery teams as well as liaise with members of the Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Communication team including media, events and digital marketing.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Provide relationship management to SSI Members and agreed community sector stakeholders
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders to position SSI for the future
- Work with SSI’s Government Relations team and the Policy team to develop joint government relations and advocacy opportunities between SSI and its members.
- Engage in events and networking opportunities, including but not limited to the sector in which we all work, to raise awareness of the overarching goals and objectives of the SSI Group.
- Capacity Building, Public Relations & Event support
- Support communications with SSI’s members, including project updates, membership queries, and networking sessions
- Implement the member strategy including coordination of professional development initiatives such as media skills training, government relations skills training and social and PR skills training and work with relevant teams in the Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Communication department to ensure timely delivery of activities
- Develop, plan and deliver member-focused activities including education workshops, webinars, events, conferences and social functions
- Work with SSI's Internal Communications Specialist to raise the profile of SSI’s members, their purpose, origin and their role in the formation of SSI
- Coordinate and manage member meetings to ensure appropriate governance with all documentation being accurate and distributed appropriately
- Assist with administration where required, including reporting and distribution lists.
- Attend meetings and functions as delegated including attendance at relevant Board sub-committee meetings.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Team player with a willingness to work autonomously.
- Experience with developing marketing communication and content
