We are seeking a Production Planner to join our client's operation, a company which designs and manufactures a complex electro/mechanical product, on site in Sydney. This is a newly created role due to ongoing investment and new product development. The Production Planner will join a team that is collaborative, enthusiastic, and enjoys a great working culture.
**About the Company**
A successful manufacturing and distribution business which provides ruggedised, innovative and efficient equipment to the industrial, construction, landscaping and flooring industries. Established in Sydney in the early 2000's, their products are designed to be safe, durable and to withstand continuous use.
**Role and **Responsibilities**
As Production Planner, you will manage the production of complex products/systems in Australia in a timely manner, ensuring the quality meets the expectation of the business. A critical function of this position is to plan for and coordinate multiple assembly and purchasing activities. You will also manage and communicate the production process regularly and manage inventory levels.
Specific responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of purchasing for the product/system range
- Coordinate the assembly of units
- Work closely with the design team to ensure that products are built to the latest specification
- Manage working relationships with key management personnel
- Ensure technical product information is established and communicated
- Review products with the aim of reducing production costs without sacrificing quality
- Ensure that cashflow information is communicated to the finance team
**Your Skills and Experience**
- Highly organised & efficient
- Confident, strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate at all levels within the organisation and with 3rd party suppliers/subcontractors
- High degree of initiative & problem solving
- Technical understanding of sheet metal, manufacturing and electrical production
- Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, ERP systems, Solid works
- Must have the ability to work independently
- Leadership and problem-solving skills
- Technical ownership of the process
- Smooth & timely outcomes - timescales and logistics
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position
**N.B. You must hold full, unrestricted and ongoing rights to work in Australia to be eligible for this role.**
