Strategic Communications Officer

**Fantastic opportunity for an APS 6 Senior Communications Officer to join the Strategic Communications team of a Federal Government Department that is highly regarded for their collaborative and supportive culture.** As part of a small team, you will help deliver integrated communication strategies and provide high quality communication advice with the aim of raising public awareness of the department's programs and projects and enhancing communication capability. This is initially a 6 month non-ongoing contract, with S26 transfers a possibility. Central Canberra location, with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week. **Genuine potential for extension and career development. Exposure to high profile and exciting projects. Networking opportunities. Formal training and capability development opportunities.** **Key duties** in this diverse role will include: - Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including liaison with policy and program areas to understand and deliver on their communication needs, working across the Communications Branch to facilitate outcomes - Develop and implement integrated communication strategies and deliver engaging content in both digital and traditional formats - Provide high quality communication advice to stakeholders verbally and in writing (including formal briefings) - Evaluate and assess the performance of communication efforts - Support small scale advertising and market research projects and the use of external providers If you are a motivated team player who prides yourself on your ability "think outside" the box to deliver creative communication solutions and build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, then this is THE role for YOU **Skills and Experience required**: - Ideally minimum of 3 years' experience delivering in communication teams - A degree in communications or related discipline or equivalent experience - Demonstrated experience implementing high quality, multi-channel communication strategies - Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders - Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate complex information into easily digestible key messages and digital formats tailored to target audiences - The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment - Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance **How to Apply**:
