**About Us**:
The Youth Justice Learning and Capability (YJ L&C) team provides learning and development services to Youth Justice's Custodial and Community workforces. The team sits within the Learning and Capability function of People, Safety, Culture and Communications branch.
**About the Role**:
Leading the YJ L&C team, the Learning and Capability Manager is responsible for the overall delivery of learning services to a diverse and multidisciplinary Youth Justice workforce. The role involves overseeing a multi-disciplinary team of designers, trainers, and coordinators. Effective communication and project management skills are essential as they provide leadership and guidance to the L&C team through the end-to-end learning lifecycle. This involves understanding the changing needs of Youth Justice's unique and complex operating environments and tailoring innovative delivery approaches.
The Manager will work closely with Youth Justice custodial and community leadership to execute effective learning solutions and ensure the transfer of knowledge and skills. The role is pivotal in implementing learning initiatives to uplift the capability of employees and fostering a culture of continuous development.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Developing, managing and leading the implementation of the L&C strategy, program delivery and Service Level Agreement for Youth Justice, working closely with Youth Justice to ensure effective delivery into a complex operational environment.
- Leading a team of L&C trainers and specialists, supporting them to effectively plan and manage projects and programs and fostering their capabilities to ensure engaging and effective learning delivery.
- Leading the development and design of new and innovative training materials and programs, that are consistent with operating models and reinforce complex operational and regulatory requirements

- High level expertise in learning and development contemporary practices.
- Significant experience in strategic planning and contributing to strategic decision-making processes.
- Significant knowledge and experience in the development and delivery (in various modalities) of leadership, management and interpersonal skills training to operational staff.

- Accountable for achievement of established corporate objectives including the formulation and implementation of local business plans.
**Qualifications**:
- A tertiary qualification in education, human resources or related domain, or equivalent experience.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable
