The Coordinated Client Support Branch is looking for motivated, resourceful, supportive and agile leaders to take up the role of Assistant Director within the Coordinated Client Support Branch.

The Coordinated Client Support (CCS) Branch manages a range of programs and services to assist vulnerable clients to navigate DVA services and connect to supports to meet their wellbeing needs. Case management offered by CCS Branch is collectively referred to as the Client Support Program.

The Client Support Program (CSP) is a voluntary time limited case management program, which uses a clinical lens and trauma informed approach to support clients to meet their wellbeing needs. The program aims to streamline communication between clients, their families and DVA. Case management provides clients with a single or primary point of contact for all services within DVA and facilitates access to external support services.

Case management is delivered through a service model that supports clients to increase their capacity to independently navigate their DVA business.

Case management is provided by a combination of clinically trained and generalist staff at the APS 6 & EL 1 levels: Caseloads of all levels of case managers vary in size due to the complexity of the clients’ presentation and needs, and the associated time required to support those needs.

**Duties**
- Manage a blended workforce of Complex Case Managers within Coordinated Client Support Branch (CCSB) to ensure efficient and effective client centric services including providing leadership and encouraging a learning environment through supervision, mentoring and coaching including the provision of training opportunities.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of a nationally consistent service model for DVA clients assessed as requiring additional support services through responsibility for a specific portfolio.
- Identification, development and implementation of governance systems to support service delivery including but not limited to; case reviews/audits, continuous improvement and quality assurance.
- With the Director, be responsible for the recruitment, selection, supervision, performance management, security and welfare of employees to ensure their ability to meet service delivery requirements.
- Management and oversight of the processes supporting the client journey including referral and allocation, case review, case closure and associated reporting.
- Provision of advice, support, consultation and referral information to DVA staff and stakeholders in relation to complex client matters or program related issues.
- Manage the reporting requirements of the section providing data on operational output at the Branch and Division level.
- Contribution to executive level briefings on strategic and sensitive client matters.
- Develop and manage key strategic relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including representing the Department in high level discussions and negotiations.
- Contribute to the strategic direction to the section and Branch, including the development and implementation of business plans, strategies and priorities.
- Contribute to the Department’s strategic reform and operational business transformation to ensure quick and appropriate responses to a variety of competing priorities and/or vulnerable clients within assigned resources.

**Eligibility**
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.

**Notes**

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
