Environmental Design Lead

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

The role will focus on four key areas:
**Planning & Design**:

- encourage collaboration and a high degree of creativity, promoting planning and design excellence for environmental sustainability.

**Team development**:

- inspire and mentor team members to optimise their professional and personal development.

**Client relationship management **- lead & manage external relationships in delivery of existing projects and development of ongoing project opportunities.

**Project management**:

- active project leadership through all phases, from initial client contacts through marketing initiatives, business development efforts, contract negotiations, project kick-off, feasibility studies, strategic planning, master planning, programming, conceptual design, design development and documentation.

The opportunity and remuneration level is dependent on experience and capability, we are keen to hear from all senior professionals upwards.

**ABOUT YOU**
- 8 years’ plus professional experience
- A bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, urban/landscape design or planning fields.
- Proven experience in delivering complex environmental planning, regulation, master planning, guidelines, frameworks and spatial design projects
- An interest in large scale planning, natural capital, nature-based solutions and biodiversity/ecological conservation projects
- The ability to think creatively to innovate and problem solve design challenges in a proactive and collaborative manner
- Excellent project management experience working with a range of clients and stakeholders and development of positive client relationships
- Demonstrated capability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects, tasks and stakeholders effectively
- Strong leadership abilities in the areas of business development, professional and community involvement
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills in the pursuit of the work
- Demonstrate a high degree of creativity and entrepreneurial independence Experience in leading teams and coaching individual team members to optimise their professional and personal development
