Mat Technical Artist
Your primary objective is to use your skills for CAD optimisation using various disciplines such as modelling, surfacing, rigging, lighting, and compositing in order to produce spec accurate assets for image generation by other departments.
The Master Asset Team (MAT) specialises in CAD conversion, predominantly working on vehicles in Maya. It’s all about technical accuracy and precision. MAT prepares all our assets, setting up spec accurate master assets for both vehicles and accessories, which contain multiple configurations of geometry and materials. Ongoing maintenance is required as the vehicles are re-released and/or technical requirements change in production.
MAT is the central hub for all incoming assets. The MAT process is fundamental to converting and translating heavy CAD files into usable files within the Rotor rendering system and real time requirements. Our MAT Technical Artists make changes to the assets both during the initial CAD preparation process, along with updates to the Master Asset based on Production, Quality Assurance (QA) and PHQ (Proof HQ - Client) feedback.
