Head of Process

**About the role**

As the Head of Process and Controls, you are a senior member of the divisional leadership team, and represent the division with key stakeholders, clients and team members, both internally and externally. As a leader, you will coach, mentor and guide a committed team to take ownership, stand up, stand out and grow their careers at Great Southern Bank

You will provide thought leadership, guidance, advice, and challenge to ensure that your division understand, owns and effectively manages risk and controls, in compliance with all relevant obligations, frameworks, policies, and supporting standards, processes and procedures. You will ensure that your division’s BEAR accountabilities are clearly understood and that processes to demonstrate reasonable steps are well embedded across the division. You establish and maintain appropriate governance and structures to monitor compliance and actively manage controls within your division.

You are also responsible for designing, maintaining, and embedding Great Southern Bank’s Process Governance Framework across the Enterprise. You are responsible for the Enterprise Process Team which will deliver end-to-end processes and process improvements across the business, ensuring strong business performance and quality outcomes.

**What we’re looking for**
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) of working experience in financial services, with a strong understanding of operational and credit risk, financial services regulations and their effective implementation, compliance, and oversight.
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in leading teams and managing multiple projects, with a focus on business strategy and optimisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of business process mapping and end-to-end business processes in the financial services industry.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing effective governance frameworks/models in a financial institution.
- A plain-speaking risk professional with high commercial acumen and excellent ability to influence at all stakeholder levels
- Passionate about driving the controls transformation agenda with a specific focus on improving the control environment.
- Excellent communicator, both in written and oral form, at an executive/board level - able to translate complexity into clarity.
- An equally proficient listener with strong influencing skills.
- Promote and embed a culture of openness, trust and operational governance.
- Strategic, resilient and resourceful with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with high attention to detail. Solution focused, versatile and strategic - you will always find a way to simplify and optimise.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, agile environment, including autonomously with mínimal supervision
