**Division Responsibilities**
Service Delivery Division is responsible for providing older Australians with quality information and
supporting seamless access to aged care services. We work collaboratively across the broader
Ageing & Aged Care Group and the department to ensure:

- There is stronger integration between the health care and aged care systems so that older

Australians can transition between settings more easily and get the right care at the right
time
- We have a robust governance, intelligence and networking capability to support policy

development, program design and delivery, including programs and policies that impact the
outcomes for older Australians and their families
- The My Aged Care website, contact centre, face-to-face and advocacy workforce are

providing senior Australians with contemporary, easy to understand information and
support about the aged care system and the services that are available to them
- There is appropriate support for the aged care sector to respond to COVID-19 and other

emergency situations. Our presence across the country increasingly allows for a localised,
regional approach to health and aged care system planning, regulation and management.
**Branch Responsibilities**
The Network Transition Taskforce is driving local responses to the recommendations of the Royal
Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. We are focused on growing the department's local
network. The network is delivering on-the-ground support to providers and service delivery
partners, building a better understanding of aged care in their local area and finding solutions to
local problems by working with the community. To support the network, we are:

- Rapidly building and rolling out a new, national model of working that is based in

stewardship and harnesses community assets
- Designing frameworks and tools to support the network in capability building, sector

readiness and viability, solutions-brokering and evidence gathering, incorporating change
management advice
- Contributing to advice for Government on the benefits and future role for the network,

including an evaluation to assess the efficacy of the stewardship model.
**Section Responsibilities**
The Evaluation, Data and Policy section is responsible for policy advice to Government, harnessing
the department's physical footprint and nationally distributed workforce to build capability and
capacity in place, and sharing data across the department.

The Network Operations and Support section is overseeing the rapid rollout of stewardship, a time
- dependent evaluation of the model and secretariat for stewardship boards and committees. Policy,
evaluation and data work is expected to be ongoing for the next two years at a minimum.***

**Key Responsibilities**
Assistant Directors will work as part of a team to:

- Prepare, contribute to and quality assure a range of written material including policy papers,

briefs, agenda papers, ministerial correspondence and questions on notice
- Oversee the management of various projects that aim to improve the department's ability to

work in place, with clear outputs and deliverables

and leadership methods, such as stewardship, to improve the system and its markets
- Direct the work of other team members, including ensuring the quality of written work is of

a very high standard and produced in a timely fashion
- Represent the branch in liaisons with internal stakeholders and manage stakeholder

relationships on complex and sensitive issues
- Mentor and coach staff within the team to promote a high performing and positive culture.***
