About the Role- Work at the forefront of Australia’s renewable energy transition- Melbourne or Sydney based position offering hybrid work arrangements- Coach and mentor leaders to ensure the safe execution of work on AGL customer sites

This role works closely with the HSE Manager to support the business in the safe planning and execution of work on AGL customer sites. This work involves the installation of products and technology designed to give customers greater control over their energy use such as solar panels, battery storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and energy efficiency products.

What you’ll be doing:
In your new role of HSE Advisor, you will build capability and accountability for HSE management within the relevant stakeholder groups and foster an organisational culture in which safety is embedded as a key component of the operating rhythm.

Working as part of the broader HSE team to develop and implement the AGL HSE strategy, you will:
- Provide timely advice to business stakeholders in all aspects of HSE, contractor and risk management- Undertake coached HSE assurance activities in order to build capacity, knowledge and confidence within the stakeholder group.- Review and provide feedback on contractor risk assessments, safety management plans and incident investigations.- Participate in and support leaders to carry out incident investigations, document reports and communicate learnings, ensuring that root causes are identified and that measures are established to prevent recurrences.- Review contracts and contractual arrangements relating to HSE.- Develop and review policies, procedures and HSE management plans.

About You

Having been successful in a HSE advisory or leadership function within heavy industrial, construction or other high risk industries, you will have demonstrated experience implementing components of a safety management system in a complex multi-disciplinary environment along with experience leading investigation teams for complex incidents involving high risk work.

You will have demonstrated examples of promoting and leading a positive and engaged safety culture through interactions, behavioural safety programs and assurance activities along with a deep understanding of relevant HSE legislation in all Australian states.

You have a natural ability to develop strong relationships and confidently engage with a range of business stakeholders to influence outcomes that ensure the safe execution of work on AGL sites.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Tertiary qualification(s) in Organisational Safety or related business discipline.- A desire to promote innovation and continuous improvement within the HSE space.- Experience working with HSE management systems, undertaking audits, data management, reporting and training delivery.- Excellent planning and time management skills and the ability to deliver to multiple deadlines.- Demonstrated project management, analytical and conceptual skills.
