An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and capable individual to step into the role of **Yard Manager** at our **Bathurst** yard This is a chance to take on a key leadership position and drive operational performance, safety, and team development.

In this position you will be managing a small, close-knit team. Experience across the breadth of our yard operations, including Non-Ferrous Buying, Machine & Weighbridge operations, and driver experience, will ensure you are able to step in and support the team where required.

**Key responsibilities**
- Lead and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient processing and transport of scrap metal
- Maximise productivity by optimising people, equipment, and material usage
- Support and develop team members to perform safely and effectively
- Manage transport schedules and vendor/customer relationships
- Manage all yard operations to ensure Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements are exceeded
- Monitor stock levels, costs, and maintenance in line with business requirements
- Drive continuous improvement across operations

**Essential Criteria**
- Minimum of 2 years previous team leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal and people management skills
- A solid understanding of operations, logistics, or scrap metal processing
- Ability to plan and manage workloads while promoting a strong safety culture
- Customer service focus and effective relationship-building skills
- Sound computer skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- A proactive, resilient, and solutions-oriented mindset

**Desired Criteria**
- Forklift or Excavator ticket
- Working knowledge of SAI and SAP
- Knowledge and understanding of the scrap metal industry and its processing techniques and equipment
- Basic understanding NHVR mass and dimension limits.
