Our clients are a livestock-focused company, operating 25 km out of Bathurst, NSW. As employers, making their work environment a fulfilling place to be is something they take pride in. This forward-thinking operation is run with a clear business plan for the livestock entity and infrastructure augmentations.

Currently procuring a sheep flock of 7,500 head comprising 2,000 Merinos ewes, 2,200 1st cross ewes and 3300 Primelines with Merinos annually joined to Mumblebone Merino and Felix Suffolk Rams. 400 Angus Cows are also a significant part of this livestock operation, all joined to Choice Bulls. All livestock work is undertaken in up-to-date, steel sheep and cattle yards, and movements are made easy with laneway systems throughout the property. AgriWebb is utilised for the management of all livestock activities, chemicals, and pasture records, with links to Farmbot and Cibo labs.

For stock-feeding purposes and pasture development, an active program consisting of 200 Ha of winter Cereal Crops and 60 Ha of summer Brassica is in place. Pasture improvement including paddock preparation, spraying, cultivation, and sowing is mostly undertaken by contractors. Being members of Australian Soil Planners we actively use agronomists to grow our production.

The main roles of the successful candidate will include;

• Reporting to the Farm Manager
• Livestock work: mustering, sheep and cattle yard work, administration of animal treatments, livestock feeding, and, working in and around shearing sheds.
• Pasture maintenance: weed control (spot spraying and tractor boom spraying), clearing pastures for developments alongside some aspects of prep work for cereal and pasture sowing.
• Fencing and yards: repairs & maintenance along with small amounts of new fence building.
• General repairs and maintenance of bikes, vehicles, tractors, and tractor equipment.
• Valid car driver's licence required for operation of farm vehicles and equipment.
• The ability to operate hand tools and welding equipment would be an advantage.

You will hold a high level of equipment awareness for both the safety of yourself and the upkeep of the equipment. Having some fencing experience will also be advantageous. The Offer

The successful candidate will be offered an attractive salary package including a three-bedroom, one-bathroom house with a recently renovated bathroom and kitchen. Fans can be found throughout the house alongside a wood fireplace for the chiller months. Internet, power, and water will all be covered by your employer. The house on offer is 4 km off the tar and 6 km from the school bus stop.

The property is located 30 minutes out of Bathurst and just over 3 hours from Sydney. You will have easy access to schools, shopping, and medical services. For the food and wine lovers, Orange and Mudgee is also close by and if you are interested in fishing, there are several local dams and creeks stocked with Trout and Yellow Belly.

Potential casual work may be available for the employee's partner in the busier times of the year, including shearing and spraying.

Minimum 5 years of livestock handling experience required to effectively recognise animal health issues and manage livestock operations.
