ARA Marine is looking for a dedicated and passionate Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team in Henderson WA as a Lifeboat Technician (Supervisor).

Location: 42 Zedora Turn, Henderson WA 6166

**Salary**: $85,000-$95,000 + superannuation

Hours: Full Time - 38 hours per week

**Position Summary**:
Main duty is to perform regulatory inspections and mechanical servicing on various makes of lifeboat, davit & winch arrangements in accordance with the relevant governing body/OEM.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Lead small service teams in the field to perform regulatory inspections and mechanical servicing on various makes of lifeboat, davit and winch arrangements in accordance with the relevant governing body/OEM.
- Work autonomously in remote locations, specifically offshore oil and gas facilities, vessels at sea, in port and dry dock environments.
- Travel on short notice for durations typically between 1 day to 2 weeks.
- Ensure excellent customer service at all teams being the Lead Lifeboat and Davit Service Engineer.
- Develop site specific work procedures, perform tasks whilst complying with OEM/SOLAS/Classification Society regulations.
- Communicate findings to relevant classification societies/owners/equipment manufacturers.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide strong leadership to the benefit of the team.
- Troubleshoot and perform work on vessels detained by port state authorities by using your expert knowledge of Lifeboat/Davit systems.
- Undertake and complete workshop and site tasks to the best of your ability.
- Work in accordance with the company HSEQ policies.
- Report all non-conformances to the Supervisor.
- Other duties as per requested by the Supervisor.

**Health and Safety (H&S) Requirements**:

- Follow all safety instructions and procedures.
- Ensure H&S regulations and working procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure housekeeping is practiced at all times.
- Wear appropriate PPE when necessary.
- Report safety hazards immediately.
- Attend daily and monthly toolbox meetings.
- Be familiar with the relevant first aid facilities and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Participate in the required risk assessment processes.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Relevant trade certificate.
- Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems in a methodical manner.
- Strong safety first mindset.
- Ability to effectively lead teams in challenging environments.
- Minimum 5 years working in the field as an OEM qualified Lifeboat & Davit Service Engineer.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, SOLAS, LSA Code.
- Able to undergo extensive pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screenings.
- Ability to undertake a BOSIET/HUET training course.
- Strong work ethic with proven work history.
- Positive and proactive approach to safety.

**Salary**: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
