MECHANICAL FITTER

FULL TIME POSITION -  Immediate Start

Kerr Engineering is seeking a suitably experienced Mechanical Fitter

Candidate requirements:

  • Heavy Mechanical trade qualification (Plant or machinery)
  • Flexibility to work weekends, overtime and different shifts where required
  • Own tools and current drivers license.
  • Ability to identify and resolve mechanical problems
  • Forklift ticket (preferred)
  • Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative.
  • Adhere to the company's Quality System and Safety Management System

The Role:

. Mechanical Fitter as per job specific requirements

  • Understand Job requirements and offer them the most suitable solutions.
  • Relevant trade certificate and/or equivalent qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Certificate III in Engineering ‐ Mechanical Trade preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in same or similar position within the last 5 years
  • Industrial maintenance repair and service experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting and fault finding and servicing of Overhead cranes.
  • The ability to read technical drawings
  • Able to produce trade papers
  • Good communication skills and presentation
  • A positive and self-motivated attitude
  • Current driver's license
  • Be well organised and show effective time management skills
  • Be safety conscious and the ability to promote a safe environment
