**About the OPPORTUNITY**

We have an exciting opportunity as a Procurement Officer to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based in Osborne - SA, Melbourne - VIC or Sydney - NSW reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager.

As a Procurement Officer you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement activities including material and services procurement ensuring that best value is obtained for the business while balancing costs, supplier risk, quality, schedule and maintaining effective relationships and engaging with key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

- Act as a member of the procurement team, collaborating with and supporting category management, all lines of business and corporate functions as required
- Aid the procurement elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms
- Manage supplier negotiations and finalise supplier agreements and purchase orders in accordance with set procedures
- Coordinate the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
- Support the management and execution of enterprise category strategies, ensuring that category objectives are delivered

**About YOU**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
- Defence industry experience would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Familiarity and experience in the development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers.
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
