The role
Reporting to the Manager of System Planning Branch, Clinical Planning & Service Strategy Division, you will conduct research, analysis and interpretation of data and information to provide advice on service planning guidelines, submissions, and reports.

Similarly, you will contribute to identification of health service need to inform healthcare purchasing decisions and preparation of service agreements, liaising with key internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you will maintain effective communication and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensure compliance with human resource management practice and principles.

The successful person
The successful applicant will display a high level of knowledge in health priority areas and have a strong background in a range of data programs (e.g., PowerBI, Excel), to analyse and present data in relation to policy development and service planning. Furthermore, the successful applicant will demonstrate high level communications skills and be able to compile reports and submissions.

About Clinical Planning & Service Strategy
Clinical Planning and Service Strategy (CPSS) is a newly created division responsible for delivering clinical service strategy and planning, workforce strategy and planning and leadership, mental health strategy and planning and precision medicine and research functions to improve health services available to the Queensland community, optimise health gains, reduce inequalities, and maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the health system.

The Division collaborates with health system leaders, Hospital and Health Services, clinical networks, key healthcare service providers, research and academic organisations, State and Commonwealth agencies as well as non-government organisations and other divisions.

The System Planning (SPB) Branch is responsible for the health service planning functions. The Branch assesses state-wide health service requirements, service supply, service capacity, develops state-wide plans and informs investment priorities for service development and infrastructure initiatives as well as supporting local health service planning. In addition, the Branch undertakes time limited projects on specific areas that contribute to development of health services.
