Public Sector People are currently working with an Inner-City Council to recruit a Band 5 level Asset Inspector for a temporary contract assignment.
As an Asset Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out on field asset inspections for park and road related assets and assist with customer requests relating to road, footpath and furniture maintenance work.
This will be an initial 3-month temporary contract assignment with opportunity for extension.
**Duties will include but not limited to**:
- Conduct asset inspections, field data capture and the preparation of asset related reports in a timely manner.
- Record defects and inspection data in Council’s Asset Management and Maintenance System, including the issue of work orders to Council’s maintenance contractors for the repair of identified defects
- Administer and update Council’s Asset Management and Maintenance System and other databases.
- Assist with the development of asset maintenance and renewal programs and input into Council’s Asset Management and Road Management Plans.
- Assist in the investigation and provision of inspection data for the processing of public liability claims
- Conduct routine inspections of Council’s civil infrastructure assets within road reserves, parks and foreshore areas to identify defects and accurately record defects and inspection data in Council’s Asset Management and Maintenance System
- Assist with the development and review of asset maintenance and renewal programs and asset maintenance related reports.
- Conduct field audits to assist with the resolution of customer requests and for the reporting of the performance of Council’s maintenance contracts
**Requirements include**:
- Relevant practical experience with civil infrastructure defect and condition inspections preferably in a local government context desirable
- Experience with the use of Technology One, or similar asset management system for the recording and processing of inspection data desirable
- Construction induction training (White Card), traffic control and traffic management training desirable.
- A solid understanding of local government policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Strong customer service skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Skills in managing time, setting priorities and planning and organising own work.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities and able to complete tasks within tight timeframes.
- A current Victorian drivers license.
