Opporutnity for a APS5 Communications Officer to join this high-profile Federal Government authority. As a AP5 Communications Officer you will play a key role in delivering communication strategies for priority-of-government policies.

This 12-month fixed-term position involves developing high-quality content across various platforms, providing support on strategic messaging, strategy, while delivering on content and digital.

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, and manage communications strategies for priority-of-government policies and initiatives.
- Produce high-quality written content, including media releases, speeches, briefings, articles, and social media posts, ensuring consistency with government policy and departmental messaging.
- Manage internal and external communications, including liaising with stakeholders, drafting responses, and providing advice on messaging for priority projects.
- Coordinate media relations, including drafting responses to media inquiries, preparing background information, and assisting in media campaigns.
- Collaborate with senior staff to develop communication strategies that promote awareness and understanding of key government policies.
- Provide advice and recommendations on communications tactics, channels, and tools to ensure effective messaging and engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and initiatives, adjusting as required to ensure outcomes are achieved.
- Contribute to the development of communication plans for priority projects, including campaign activities and engagement with key stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong understanding of government priorities and relevant policies to inform communications strategies.
- Ensure compliance with departmental guidelines and relevant legislation, including privacy and security requirements.

**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex policy information into clear, concise messaging.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering effective communications strategies in a government or corporate environment.
- A solid understanding of federal government processes, including the role of communications in shaping public policy.
- Experience managing communications across a range of platforms, including traditional media, digital, and social media channels.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior government officials, media, and the public.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- High level of initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on government priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with security protocols.
- **Desirable**: Knowledge or experience working on priority-of-government policies.
