**The Role**:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for our Head Office based in Derrimut, Melbourne VIC. The Engineering Manager will provide key leadership and is responsible for the oversight and direct management of all engineering projects and maintenance technical support at the company. Projects primarily involve design, documentation, costing, assistance in proposal development, submittal preparation, regulatory engagement, and technical support of business development.

Reporting through to the General Manager, you will ideally have between 5 - 10 years experience.

**Key responsibilities & duties**
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as workplace health and safety legislation, codes of practice and industry standards.
- Development and implementation of our engineering strategies and processes.
- Determine the need for training and talent development and executing on this.
- Providing clear and concise instructions to engineering team.
- Planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time.
- Proposing and managing budgets for projects.
- Follow all regulatory and company policies and procedures to prevent incidents or reportable events.
- Ensuring all team members follow company policies and procedures and training to prevent incidents or reportable events.
- Oversee and/or lead induction and training of all staff both permanent and casual to ensure competent and safe operations.
- Planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time.
- Internal partnering with others with strong attention to detail, and determination to deliver high quality and impactful outcomes with demonstrated willingness to create value for the business and its customers.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written), working with a diversity of stakeholders; team members and contractors.
- Identifying, implementing and managing process improvement activities
- Leading Management of change to ensure safeguard of employees, assets and the environment from any potential harm during a period of transition.
- Documenting any implementations and establishing Standard operating procedures for new or altered activities ensuring future transfer of knowledge.
- Working closely with the Operations team to investigate opportunities for improved equipment efficiency and reliability through assessment of material properties and operational specifications.
- More specifically identify areas for improvement in the areas of production capacity, environmental outcomes, energy efficiency, ease of operability, operational efficiency, and to make appropriate recommendations for effective outcomes.
- May be required to travel at times to provide advice or guidance to other sites or divisional areas of DGL.
- May be required to travel and attend various industry events, training or conferences.
