Environment, Climate and Sustainability Lead

Your Opportunity
Mott MacDonald’s Advisory team is looking for an Environment, Climate and Sustainability Lead to establish your plan for and drive the growth of a long-term sustainable team in Victoria, aligned to our national and global strategy.
In your role you will further develop and grow our capability across Environment, Climate, and Sustainability and associated specialist skills such as Climate Resilience, Circular Economy, Air Quality, Heritage, Nature Based Solutions, Regenerative Outcomes, EES, planning and approvals.
You will be joining a diverse team of consultants who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record in guiding our clients and leading the delivery of our most critical projects locally and nationally
Role Specific Duties:
- Bring and establish long term client relationships at a senior or executive level relevant to your area of focus. Work in partnership with our Account Leads and Resource Managers to identify a pipeline of Environment, Climate and Sustainability work from existing and new clients.
- Lead your team in the winning of work across technical and commercial aspects. Drive commercial performance of your team’s portfolio of projects.
- Plan resources based on insights of project and prospect pipelines, lead recruitment to develop breadth and depth of capability, and champion the onboarding of new hires within the business.
- Foster our culture and uphold our values. In consultation with our Practice Leaders, promote professional and technical excellence and career development of our people.
- Contribute to sharing of knowledge and opportunities with your peers nationally and assist with projects in other states.
- Create, develop, and lead high performing teams in Victoria. Mentor team members to build capability in a team focused, positive environment
- Lead and support the development of proposals and bid submissions.
- What can you bring to the team?
- Minimum 15 years’ experience, and hold a bachelor’s degree in environment engineering, science, planning, or sustainability
- Ability to influence and persuade internal and external stakeholders resulting in improved sustainability performance
- Demonstrated experience in managing successful teams, and leading large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Broader experience in social and environmental impact assessments, economic development, community consultation and sustainability, and carbon management.
- Use advanced communication skills and experience in stakeholder management to influence the outcome of key client decisions.
