**The Role**
Within the Program Management team, the Export Controls Manager performs a unique and crucial role working autonomously to take the lead on developing and maintaining the Systems Program Office (SPO) export controls framework, in compliance with Australian and international export control requirements.

**About our Team**
Satellite Communications Systems Program Office (SATCOMSPO), within Space Systems Branch, works in partnership with Industry to deliver satellite communications technology equipment and services to customers across Defence in sustainment and operational environments.

Space Systems Branch acquires and sustains SATCOM systems, and is a trusted advisor of SATCOM systems for the Australian Defence Organisation. The team comprises professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial and logistics.

This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel. The team works from Brindabella Park Offices in Canberra and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies.
- Demonstrated export control and/or commercial experience with Defence acquisition and sustainment programs involving US Foreign Military Sales, Direct Commercial Sales and Cooperative Programs;
- Experience in industry engagement and managing the delivery of international engagement outcomes in dynamic environments, with diplomatic acumen; and
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, successfully lead a distributed network of multiple stakeholders and positively influence processes and outcomes.

Qualifications in areas such as international relations, commercial, law, or project/program management would be highly regarded.
