**Role Description/Criteria**

The Teaching and Learning Coach (the Coach) is a new role with the school aimed at developing practice excellence in the teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy across all year levels. This role has a strong focus on supporting teachers through a model for improvement, particularly through peer-to-peer coaching.

Four positions are available within the school commencing in 2025.

The Coach will spend the majority of their time in classrooms working one-to-one with teachers, to model and observe classroom practice and to support reflection and professional conversation about practice.

Consistent with the school’s approach to professional inquiry, the coach will:

- Encourage openness and sharing of practice with a focus on self-improvement and impact on children’s learning.
- Build strong collegial partnerships that encourage and support continuous reflection on classroom practice.
- Support teachers to design and implement purposeful, meaningful and engaging learning.

The Teaching and Learning Coach will work closely with other school leaders to grow and refine the shared view and practice of highly effective teaching at Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School.

In addition to the responsibilities of this role, the Coach may have a 0.2 to 0.4 FTE teaching load in a classroom or learning area.

This position requires that you have:

- A commitment to actively support our Catholic school vision.
- Experience supporting the development of literacy and/or numeracy learning across the primary years of education.
- Demonstrated capacity for delivering improved achievement and engagement for learners.
- Demonstrated capacity for designing and implementing differentiated teaching strategies that are responsive to the assessed learning strengths and needs of the child.
- Demonstrated capacity for engaging with colleagues in a cycle of continuous inquiry and learning about effective teaching practice.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
- A proven track record of behaving professionally and ethically in all settings.
- The ability to effectively use digital technology.
