**Your next career opportunity**

As the Specimen Reception Supervisor, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Specimen Reception and Administration Team within the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit Public Health Laboratory. You will ensure efficient specimen workflows, support service development, and uphold compliance with key standards. This role offers you the chance to lead a dedicated team, contribute to public health outcomes, and develop your leadership skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

**Your responsibilities will include**
- **Leading and Managing Team Operations**:Supervise daily activities, manage shifts, and ensure service coverage.
- **Enhancing Customer Service**:Act as the main contact for enquiries and liaise with stakeholders to support operations.
- **Providing an efficient Specimen Reception Services**:Manage data entry, invoicing, and Medicare claims, adhering to time management, procedures, and quality assurance for robust testing delivery.
- **Ensuring Compliance and Quality**:Maintain compliance with ISO standards and contribute to quality system improvements.
- **Training and Developing Staff**:Organise training and competency assessments to align with organisational needs.

If you’re a hands-on leader who is a part of the team and provides support with day-to-day tasks. You will have a background in microbiology or biomedical science, with experience in laboratory settings, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to team leadership and service delivery.

You may also
- Have a graduate qualification in microbiology, biomedical science, or related fields.
- Possess experience in laboratory settings and pre-analytical processing.
- Be proficient in Laboratory Information Management systems and Microsoft 365.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
- Demonstrate knowledge of microbiological and quality standards.
- Experience leading staff in a lab setting
