**Southern Premium Vineyards** (SPV) is one of Australia’s leading vineyard management groups with both owned and managed vineyards located across a diverse range of winegrowing regions such as the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and Limestone Coast regions and the Riverina and Sunraysia.
**About the job**:
- We are seeking a motivated Payroll Officer who is particularly interested in the career challenge of building the function from scratch. You will be part of the project team implementing new payroll software, including the entire employee lifecycle. Working closely with the HR team, the Finance team and the Operations leads, you will implement a payroll framework that meets the needs of the business. You will be involved in establishing new policies, processes and practices and implementing effective governance frameworks and purpose built reporting.
- This is a newly created role and will report to the General Manager Human Resources.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Consolidating and implementing a new payroll system
- Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
- Processing and checking of timekeeping data (electronic and manual)
- Implementation of effective payroll approval processes including variation reporting
- Process workers’ compensation claims, reconciling reimbursements and correspondence
- Calculation of termination benefits and staff leave entitlements (including long service leave)
- Balance all payroll ledger accounts, including the posting of all payroll related journals
- Prepare payroll reports as required by HR, Finance and Operations
- End of financial year payroll processing. Including the balancing and production of payment summaries through STP2
**About you**:
- You will be keen to utilise your experience and expertise in systems, you have ‘next level’ attention to detail, and you have an unwavering passion for the criticality of a payroll function that mandates high integrity and service ethos.
- You are someone with a strong work ethic, organised and with great time management.
- You will have experience in end to end payroll processing - the system doesn’t matter. You understand industrial pay frameworks and you like creating new processes.
- Training and support will be provided.
- Experience in, or exposure to, Agribusiness, Viticulture or Wine/Beverage industry is highly desirable but not essential.
