**Full-time fixed term position until 31 March 2028.**
The Technical Officer position is based within the division of Science Engineering and Technology with the School of Agriculture, Food & Wine.
The Technical Officer will coordinate and perform field and laboratory sampling and analysis for the project. The responsibilities will include sampling soils and plant material at multiple field sites in South Australia and interstate, characterising soil amendments, analysing samples and/or coordinating the analysis of samples, record keeping for field and laboratory work, and implementing and maintaining laboratory occupational health and safety protocols. The technician will also contribute to data collation and writing of reports and will participate in meetings with project collaborators.
**To be successful you will need**:
- Knowledge and practical experience in agricultural systems and field trial operations
- Practical experience in performing analysis of soil and plant material in the field and laboratory
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work in a team and interact with a broad range of people.
- Ability to solve problems in field and laboratory settings
