**The Role**:
The Portfolio Executive is responsible for overseeing several of Amplar Health’s private hospital investments (surgical / mental health) within the Ambulatory Care Centres portfolio. Leveraging your significant executive expertise in private hospital strategy and operations, you will work closely with our JV partners to ensure the JV delivers on the agreed business plan to meet the investment thesis. This role requires the ability to foster strong relationships, collaborative teamwork and highly effective stakeholder management and influence (internally and externally).

This role also requires you to be a JV Board representative for Amplar Health to ensure effective governance and provide expert advice relating to strategic and operational objectives. You will need to adeptly navigate all facets of the JV’s operations, including clinical, risk, governance, financial, commercial and people.

**The Responsibilities**:

- Be a Board representative for Amplar Health/Medibank and provide expert advice on strategic and operational objectives
- Working closely with the Board Chair and facility management team to deliver any post transaction requirements.
- Providing advice and coaching to the management team to deliver capital projects and/or operational objectives and investment outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with JV management to implement and embed turnaround initiatives (where required), to support achievement of JV financial and operational KPIs
- Continue to drive innovation through the expansion of the short stay case-mix.
- Lead complex negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Connect Amplar/Medibank teams with the JV management to ascertain and implement synergies i.e. procurement.
- Ensure closure of due diligence items post transaction
- Provide expertise on hospital operations in relation to strategy of the new or current business, management structure of the JV, capital projects, workforce, quality and safety, operations including technology and processes, marketing, commercial outcomes & risk management.
- Providing coaching to facility management on leadership and corporate governance requirements.
- Under the direction of the Hub Lead of Ambulatory Care Centres, work collaboratively with other Medibank portfolios (Customer, Strategy, Amplar) to develop the strategic focus for the Ambulatory Care Portfolio for the next 3-5 years.
- Meet deadlines during the performance management cycles for self-inclusive of goal setting, development planning and regular progress check-ins.

**About You**
- Minimum 10 years of relevant private hospital operational experience at an executive level (ideally CEO level).
- Executive-level experience in developing and implementing strategy (within a healthcare context).
- Experience in the development and implementation of effective corporate and clinical governance practices within a hospital environment.
- Strong business acumen and negotiating skills within a private hospital context.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and present complex technical information and influence stakeholders
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills (VMOs, Board directors, Executive teams), cultivated over 5-10 years in an executive level role
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and negotiate outcomes with complex stakeholder partners
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of private hospital funders and commercial levers.
- Applied knowledge of principles and practices of capital project management methodologies.
